American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The American Association of State Colleges and Universities represents more than 430 public colleges and universities throughout the United States and its territories. The association aims to promote appreciation and support for public higher education and the distinctive contributions of its member colleges and universities; to analyze public policy, and to advocate for member institutions and the students they serve; and to provide policy leadership and program support to strengthen academic quality, promote access and inclusion, and facilitate educational innovation.

American Association of University Professors. The AAUP aims to advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education's contribution to the common good. Membership is open to all faculty, librarians, and academic professionals.

American Association of University Women. The AAUW promotes education and equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. Since 1881 the American Association of University Women has been the nation's leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls. AAUW's work extends globally through its international connections and membership in the International Federation of University Women.

American Council on Education. The American Council on Education (ACE) is the United States' coordinating association for higher education, with over 1,800 members representing both degree-granting colleges and other education-related organizations. ACE seeks to advance the interests and goals of higher and adult education in a changing environment by providing leadership and advocacy on important issues, representing the views of the higher and adult education community to policy makers, and offering services to its members.

Association for the Study of Higher Education. ASHE is a scholarly society with over 1,800 members dedicated to higher education as a field of study. The Association promotes collaboration among its members and others engaged in the study of higher education through research, conferences, and publications. ASHE values rigorous scholarly approaches to the study of higher education and practical applications of systemic inquiry.

Association of American Universities. The AAU is an association of leading research universities in the United States and Canada. The association assists member institutions in developing national policy positions on issues related to academic research and graduate and professional education.

Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching is an independent policy and research center whose charge is "to do and perform all things necessary to encourage, uphold, and dignify the profession of the teacher and the cause of higher education." The Foundation is a major national and international center for research and policy studies about teaching. Its mission is to address the hardest problems faced in teaching - that is, how to succeed in the classroom, how best to achieve lasting student learning, and how to assess the impact of teaching on students.

Council of Graduate Schools. The Council of Graduate Schools is an organization of institutions of higher education engaged in graduate education, research scholarship, and the preparation of candidates for advanced degrees. Its mission is to improve and advance graduate education. CGS accomplishes its mission through advocacy in the federal policy arena, innovative research, and the development and dissemination of best practices.

International Association of Universities . The IAU is a worldwide organization representing degree-conferring higher education institutions in some 150 countries. IAU cooperates with a vast network of international, regional and national bodies to help strengthen the quality of international higher education and assist member institutions in promoting, through teaching and research, the principles of freedom, justice, human dignity and solidarity.

National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. NAFEO is an association of over 100 Black Colleges and Universities. NAFEO’s chief objective is to implement programs and policies which affect minority student enrollment, using diverse strategies to ensure an increase of Black students into HBCU establishments. To advance the agenda of HBCU presidents and chancellors, NAFEO coordinates regional, state-wide, national policy forums and other occasions for dialogue on major issues.

National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. With nearly 1,000 members nationwide, NAICU serves as the unified national voice of independent higher education and reflects the diversity of private, nonprofit higher education in the United States. The association represents private colleges and universities on policy issues with the federal government, such as those affecting student aid, taxation, and government regulation.

National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges. NASULGC is the nation's oldest higher education association. A voluntary association of public universities, land-grant institutions and many of the nation's public university systems, NASULGC campuses are located in all 50 states, the U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. Dedicated to supporting excellence in teaching, research and public service, NASULGC has been in the forefront of educational leadership nationally for over a century.

The Collaboration for the Advancement of College Teaching & Learning. The Collaboration for the Advancement of College Teaching & Learning is a regional membership organization that supports and promotes outstanding college teaching and learning. The Collaboration supports professional development via inter-institutional and interdisciplinary collaboration, fosters and disseminates effective approaches to teaching and learning, and engages members of the academic community in the collaborative, scholarly examination of their practice as teachers.

The Council of Independent Colleges. The CIC is an association of independent colleges and universities who work together to support college and university leadership, advance institutional excellence, and enhance private higher education’s contributions to society. CIC is the only national organization that focuses solely on providing services directly to independent colleges and universities.

University Continuing Education Association. The UCEA is the principal US organization for continuing higher education. UCEA assists institutions of higher learning and affiliated nonprofit organizations to increase access through a wide array of educational programs and services, and provides national leadership in support of policies that advance workforce and professional development. Association members include both public and private accredited colleges and universities, as well as nonprofit organizations with a commitment to professional education.
