access to useful Web resources and guidelines on copyright and intellectual
property rights as related to instructional technology and distance
education. Discusses the practical implications of the fair use
statute (Copyright Act of 1976), and the recent Digital Millennium
Copyright and TEACH Acts. Outlines simplified fair use guidelines
and provides suggestions on how to determine the copyright status
of a work and obtain proper copyright permissions.
