  Digital Media Biomedical Media Collections (14 links)


BioMed Image Archive. University of Bristol. A searchable online collection of about 8500 medical, dental, and veterinary images for use in teaching and learning. All the images have been donated by academics working in the biomedical fields in different countries. Free registration required to download images.

Catalog of Clinical Images. University of California San Diego - School of Medicine. Provides digital images representative of common and uncommon physical exam findings. Discussions of pathophysiology, diagnostics, and treatment are not included. Also provides links to other image and tutorial sites covering physical examination, gross anatomy, pathology and imaging.

Finding Medical Images. Cornell University - Weill Medical Library. A gateway to selected collections of biomedical images available on the Web. Includes technical notes about Web images and instructions on how to find images in print books and journals

Google Image Search. Google. Uses the Google search engine to located JPG, GIF and PNG images online. Includes an advanced search mode.

Health Education Assets Library (HEAL) Multimedia Repository. National Sciences Digital Library. A searchable and browsable digital library that provides freely accessible digital teaching materials of the highest quality to meet the needs of today's health sciences educators and learners.

Medical and Disease Pictures. University of Iowa - Hardin Library for the Health Sciences. A gateway to Web sites providing biomedical images covering a wide range of diseases and disorders. Picture Link Pages link to images only. Picture-enhanced directory pages are existing Hardin Library pages that include links to related images.

Medical Image Resources. Creighton University - Health Sciences Library. A gateway to Web sites providing biomedical image databases covering the history of medicine, the visible human project, histology, pathology and selected clinical topics.

Medical Images. HONmedia. A searchable repository of over 3000 medical images and videos, pertaining to 1,700 topics and themes.

Medical Images and Illustrations. Karolinska Institute. A comprehensive gateway to 100s of Web sites providing biomedical image and image databases. Include both general and specialty collections.

Medical Images on the Web. University of Nebraska Medical Center. A directory of Web-based biomedical images collections covering general image sites, anatomy and histology, dermatology, embryology, endoscopy and neurology.

Medical/Health Image Collections. Emory University - Rollins School of Public Health. Provides an alphabetical listing of Web sites providing biomedical images covering a wide range of topics and areas. Also includes links to commercial sites.

MedPix. Departments of Radiology and Biomedical Informatics, Uniformed Services University. MedPix is a free online Medical Image Database. All public content is peer-reviewed by an Editorial Panel. Radiology images predominate, but pathology, ophthalmology, dermatology, and endoscopy images are also included.

Pathology Images on the Web. University of Illinois - Library of Health Sciences (Urbana). A gateway to collections of pathology images available on the Web. Supplements the slide collections at the Library of the Health Sciences-Urbana.

Subject Guide - Medical Images. Duke University Medical Center Library. A gateway to Web sites providing biomedical image databases. Include both general and specialty collections. Also includes instructions on using image search engines, saving images from the Web and incorporating images into Powerpoint.
