An Interactive Multimedia Technology Primer. Locatis, C.. Discusses various technical aspects of multimedia technology, particularly bandwidth-related issues. Topics include Interactive Multimedia Attributes; Interactive Multimedia Applications; Computer, Optical Media and Network Concepts; and the Role of Compression in Digital Multimedia.

Multimedia Design Model. Georgia Institute of Technology - Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing. Provides a matrix describing the key processes, team contributions and products involved in the analysis, design, production and evaluation phases of a multimedia project.

Multimedia in the Teaching Space. Jameson, D.G.. Defines multimedia, discusses the relationship between pedagogy and technology, and provides a technical overview of the role of networks in multimedia delivery. Also includes a comprehensive glossary and an appendix on video coding algorithms. Some technical aspects dated, but most content still pertinent.

Multimedia Information and Learning. Najjar, LJ. Based on a review of the literature, shows that multimedia may be able to help people learn more information more quickly compared to traditional classroom lecture (1) when the media encourage dual coding of information, (2) when the media support one another, and (3) when the media are presented to learners with low prior knowledge or aptitude in the domain being learned.
