This article reviews the empirical work concerning the conditions under which collaborative learning is efficient and the mechanisms that have been proposed to explain the cognitive effects of collaboration.

The Virtual Professor: A Personal Case Study. Kearsley, G. The author shares his personal transformation to a virtual professor, concluding that the experience was overwhelmingly positive in terms of the being able to teach more effectively and efficiently. However, whether this will be true for most other teachers remains to be seen.
